Mission Statement

 

Bibliotecas Para La Gente’s mission is to promote the development of library services to the Spanish-speaking and Latino population of Northern California by:

 

• Providing workshops, training, conferences, and written resources related to library services for Latinos and the Spanish-speaking
• Disseminating literacy tools and information resources that can be used to serve Latinos and the Spanish-speaking at all libraries
• Fostering close cooperation among libraries and librarians interested in serving Latinos and the Spanish-speaking
• Contributing to the development of new methods for improving library services at all levels for Latinos and the Spanish Speaking
• Helping to recruit prospective bilingual and bicultural librarians into the profession
• Engaging in other educational and charitable activities as permitted by law
