A message from BPLG's President
On behalf of our members I welcome you to the Bibliotecas Para la Gente's website.
Bibliotecas para la Gente (BPLG) is a non-profit organization with a mission to support the efforts of professionals and paraprofessionals working in the library field who are interested in developing and providing library services for the Spanish speaking and Latino communities of Northern California.
In this newly redesigned website, you will find valuable information submitted by our members regarding library events relevant to the Spanish speaking and Latino community. We also invite you to visit the sections Librarian Resources and BPLG Recommended Performers to get ideas for programs you can bring to your library.
Are you a SJSU student working on getting your Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences? Are you interested in serving the Spanish speaking and Latino populations? Then, we invite you to apply for the Rita Torres scholarship which will help you to achieve your goal of becoming a Librarian.
Whatever your role is within the library or literacy field, if you already work or are interested in working for and with the Spanish speaking and Latino populations of your community, we invite you to join BPLG where our major asset resides in each of our members and the support we provide to each other.
Please feel free to contact us to get more information about our organization and on how to join. Meanwhile, thank you very much. We hope to see you at one of our meetings and/or events.
Sincerely,
Dora Irene Morales,
Bibliotecas Para La Gente President
