The Consulate General of Mexico in San Jose, the SJSU Department of World Language and Literatures, Círculo Hispánico and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library invite you to participate in a month of Homage to Mexican Writer Carlos Fuentes from October 17, 2012-November 15, 2012.  Featuring the film series “The Soul of Mexico” , which explores Mexico’s art, history and culture and is narrated by Carlos Fuentes. On November 15th join the panel of discussion on Fuentes’ work and legacy at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library Room 255-257 at 5:30pm.

Fact vs. Fiction—Immigration 101 for Librarians on Sept. 28th

Don’t miss this special training at our September 28th meeting at South San Francisco Library. Staff from US Citizenship and Immigration Services will provide a general overview of how to obtain a green card, basic definitions to clear up misconceptions about the immigration process, a review of U.S. citizenship and the USCIS website, and how to avoid becoming a victim of immigration fraud. The training will begin promptly at 10:30 preceded by a short BPLG meeting beginning at 9:30.
